about the design:

The ‘sacred chakra implant’ design is a result of my exploration of ancestral wisdom of chakras and futuristic technologies of prosthetic implants.

The concept of chakras originates from ancient Indian spirituality and has been an integral part in yogic and Ayurvedic practices. Chakras are envisioned as vortexes of energy located at specific points along the spine, from its base to the crown of the head. Each of the seven chakras corresponds to different aspects of physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. In spiritual practices, balancing and aligning these chakras is considered essential for enhancing one’s consciousness and in harmonizing the body, the mind and the spirit.

The concept of prosthetics played an important role in inspiring me to create this design. In the realm of futuristic technologies, there is an exciting field of bio-hacking and augmentation that explores the use of prosthetic implants to enhance human abilities beyond their natural state. This includes concepts like neural implants as well as implants providing additional sensory input and enhanced physical abilities. Such concepts blurs the lines between human and machine, and challenges our notions of identity, humanity and the limits of our biological nature.

The patterns of this design are inspired by the tribal body markings of Borneo and Polynesian tattoo cultures. The lines, dots and the space between flow together like liquid, yet carry the might and precision of a mechanical implant. This duality is my homage to the blending of our most primal roots with the apex of human innovation. I have made these patterns with the intention to harmonize the flow of the energy within, tapping into the body’s innate power to energize, heal and elevate consciousness.

The idea behind this design is grounded in the belief that the human body’s energy system, comprised of the seven main chakras, can be directly influenced by physical interventions. It resonates with my vision of a future where spiritual growth and technological advancement converge to enhance human potential.

This design is my attempt to remind the wearer of the potential for inner transformation and the activation of latent powers within, to have a deeper understanding of oneself and the universe.
